Notice the black head scarves, hoodies, leather and Rhianna’s Parisian cum funeral modernized Bibi hat — think of the depressive simplicity of Rick Ownes meets the distinctive loose fit of Alexander Wang, coupled with the meticulous details of McQueen. And better yet, Rhianna is virtually pantless. Roc Nation recognizes that rappers have had a long love affair with baggy pants, over-sized T-shirts and monogramed LV and Gucci for too long, hence Jay Z’s Martin Margiela shout out. It’s refreshing to have kept the excessive bling out of the picture, letting the clothes do the talking. I think Jay Z convinced me. I might sport a headscarf.
