Guess the Most Narcissistic City in the U.S.

NYC Skyline

Yes, you’ve guessed it – the jaded city of bright lights and a mysterious apple, New York City. We couldn’t leave it to suspense considering the obviousness of the answer.

Leave it to the Census Bureau to research the ’10 Most Vain Cities’ in the U.S.

According to the results via Total Beauty New York City is the ‘Most Vain’ city three fold in comparison to any other city:

$21 million is spent on hair coloring

$32.5 million – skin care

$5.5 million – makeup

$530,000 – hair growth products

More than 10,000 personal care businesses (spas, nail salons, etc.)

Second highest number of hair restoration surgeons

But only has 4.1 plastic surgeons per 100,000 New Yorkers

Pride be damned, thanks to the Census Bureau, I’m sure the number of plastic surgeons will explode, while spending in the aforementioned categories will see tremendous gains (once the recession returns to its dormant slumber).

Miami, Florida follows in the number 2 spot, San Francisco, California is third, and Salt Lake City, Utah is fourth. What does Utah have that merits vanity?

LOL – totally agree about NY. However being originally from San Francisco I do not understand how they made the list. I’ve lived in Manhattan for 10 years and when I go home to visit SF I realize how much more effort I naturally put into my appearance now that I live in NY.

They are NOT vein in SF. Very few girls put effort in to their earthy appearance.
