Esquire: Rejected

Sigh… I guess I won’t be joining Esquire this fall. The editor told me that he thought, “long and hard” before deciding that I should go back to school. I’m not exactly sure what that means, but I did get recommended to apply for the print editorial internship as well – I got the contact info for that internship – so at least I’m not feeling as down. Now I need to find an apartment before I return to school.

Advice: Don’t Save Resume as .docx

worddocxLong story short, I had sent my resume in as .docx and the Esquire editor interviewing me informed me that he was unable to read resumes in the .docx format. Thankfully my writing clips alone garnered me that interview.

Esquire: Crossing My Fingers

I just sent out my references and my pitch to Esquire’s editorial internship position. All I can do now is wait (and pray). Wish me luck!

Interview: Esquire

Ah, the dreaded interview day. You stand in front of your mirror, deliberating what dress to pair with what stilettos or, for the guys, whether the mocha oxford should be paired with dark jeans and your favorite blue dress shirt. Despite four interviews to my credit, I’m stuck in that in that dilemma. Worse yet, I don’t even have a ride to the LIRR. Le sigh… Before I forget, here is a piece of advice, don’t forget to print out your resume. Wish me luck!
